Almost May

Wow! We thought we were finished with paperwork, but we're not! The Dossier found out Friday, that since our boys are in separate orphanages we have to have some of the papers sent again. I was very frustrated at first, then I thought "oh well, God knew ahead of time this was going to happen and I can't change the fact that it needs to be done". Here we go again. Continue to pray: Losha's orphanage is closing this summer (may all our paperwork get through before Losha is bounced around), Alexei turns 15 in May (I wish we could be with him on his birthday), may the boys stay safe, protected and fed.
My Mom is doing great since her surgery! She plans to start chemo soon.

This week

My Mom's mastectomy was Monday, it was considered successful. The surgeon also took 15 lymph nodes, under the left arm. Tuesday, Mom had a port put in, for her upcoming treatments. We received the results from the lymph nodes today: only 2 had spots, no further action has to be taken at this point.
We went to OKC yesterday to Homeland security and finished our end of the immigration process. Now we wait on the Russian government, our government and God's provision.
I'm not sure if I'll ever know what normal is again. :)
Thank you for continued prayers!

Mom update

My parents met with the Dr. at 1:00 today. They scheduled surgery for Monday. Everyone please be in prayer that they get it all, she doesn't have to have a 2nd surgery, and she recovers quickly. Her birthday is Tuesday! We will celebrate this weekend.

Adoption update- we go to OKC Wednesday "the last of adoption work". After this, it's all up to God, our government and the Russian government on when we get to go to Russia to bring the boys home.

Thank you so much for your prayers!!!

New week

This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!
Thursday, however I was not rejoicing. The surgeon confirmed that my Mom has cancer. They will run additional test this week to make sure it has not spread.
She will have a mastectomy, possibly this week.
To start the week off right, God provided a buyer for the 2nd gold coin! We did receive the last USCIS paper and on the 22nd we will go to OKC for our last fingerprinting and finish ALL paperwork! God is so good! We know, He will guide us to the remainder of the funds needed.

Much Prayers

Sometimes we think we can't handle the things that are thrown our way! Of course, we are wrong!!! God is victorious! I know this from the Bible and personal experience. When our now 17 year old was 5, we were told his heart was enlarged and the cardiologist was sure he would need surgery! After much prayer and more tests, the cardiologist could not believe his eyes! The new test proved that Garrett's heart was normal 5 year old size. God had healed him!!
We are a now asking other Christians to pray with us for healing for my Mom! Yesterday, we were informed by the surgeon, that he is 90% sure the lump is cancer (due to the color, size, shape and edges). He will perform a biopsy tomorrow. Please pray along side us that: she is healed, she will not have to make the difficult decisions the surgeon spoke of, and that our family is a testimony to the Doctors involved.
You see, I know God is still in the miracle working business, just like the days that Jesus walked the earth as man! He healed Garrett! He can heal my Mom! He can also, help us bring Alexei and Losha home from Russia! I don't know how He will do this, but I do know He is victorious!

This week's happenings

One of the gold coins sold this week! Friday we raised just over $100 from a lunch fundraiser. Saturday we brought in $500 from a garage sale. We are getting closer by the day to sending in the fees.
We were blessed enough to have a very nice article about our adoption journey published this week in The Bigheart times. Through this article, we received a message from a wonderful lady wanting to help with our adventure!
God is good and in control! We've experienced many blessings the past week, to help us remember, God wants our family to be Alexei and Losha's 4-ever family.
